Accessibility

How edwardbatterbury.co.uk is designed, tested and improved for accessibility.

Using this website

Edward Batterbury is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible. The website is designed so that you should be able to:

  • zoom and reflow the page without losing information or controls;
  • navigate using a keyboard;
  • use a screen reader to read headings, links, images and form labels;
  • adjust colours, contrast, fonts and spacing through your browser or device settings;
  • understand the content without relying on colour, position or images alone.

The website uses plain HTML pages wherever possible. It does not use autoplaying media, advertising trackers or an accessibility-overlay widget.

Current status

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 Level AA.

No full, partial or non-conformance claim is being made yet. On 19 October 2026, the website passed the automated and browser-based checks described below. Manual testing with VoiceOver, NVDA and physical devices has not yet been completed, so barriers may remain that those checks did not identify.

What remains to be tested

No known WCAG 2.2 Level A or AA failure was identified within the completed automated scope. That is not the same as a complete accessibility evaluation.

The remaining checks cover:

  • complete keyboard journeys and real browser zoom and text-spacing settings;
  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and NVDA on Windows;
  • Windows forced colours and operating-system reduced-motion settings;
  • mobile touch, orientation and the on-screen keyboard;
  • the live contact form with assistive technology;
  • external documents and Public Record source journeys with assistive technology.

This statement will be updated when those checks are complete and whenever a verified problem is found or fixed.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you find an accessibility problem or need website information in another format, use the contact form and choose “Website or accessibility problem”.

If the form itself is the problem, email hello@edwardbatterbury.co.uk.

Please describe the page and the problem, but do not send medical or health information, identity documents, private casework or other sensitive information. Edward will review the request personally.

Technical information

The website relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. JavaScript is used for mobile navigation and contact-form validation and submission. No accessibility overlay is used.

External documents

Some Public Record entries link to documents published by other organisations, including PDFs. Those external documents are not controlled by this website. The relevant page identifies the source and explains the public fact it supports. Use the accessibility contact route if you need help locating the information in another format.

How the website was tested

This statement was last reviewed on 19 October 2026. Every public page and each contact-form state was tested against the WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules available to the automated tools used.

The completed checks covered document structure, headings, landmarks, accessible names, forms, links, image alternatives, keyboard order and focus behaviour, colour contrast, reflow at 320 pixels, enlarged text, text spacing, long content, reduced-motion preferences and forced-colour rendering. The automated accessibility tool ran 64 installed WCAG Level A and AA rules.

Some of those checks simulate browser or operating-system settings. They do not replace the manual and assistive-technology testing listed above.

Review

This statement will be reviewed after material website changes, after a substantiated accessibility report and at least once every 12 months. The next scheduled review is no later than 19 October 2027.
